The WSCU Master of Fine Arts in Poetry with an Emphasis on Versecraft is a distinctive program, with a curriculum that is among the most rigorous of its kind in the world. Students who complete the program will have an overstuffed quiver of techniques and approaches to poetry that will serve them well no matter what direction they take as artists, critics, readers, scholars, or teachers. Just as the greatest dancers, painters, sculptors, film-makers and composers learn by studying the greats, imitating them, and then trying to match or even surpass that work stroke for stroke, so our curriculum teaches writers how to engage with the past and the present in order to learn how to create the strongest possible original work. We are keeping the tradition alive and making it new: join us.
